Independence of Asian Weightlifting Federation should be kept!

2015.3.19

A few days ago the second AWF Executive Board Meeting was held in Thailand during which some points such as modification of AWF Logo, selection of the host of the upcoming intercontinental championships in 2016, estimation and determination of AWF Budget for 2015, reviewing the current constitution and rules as well as other items were propounded. It is hoped that the recent decisions will be in favor of the weightlifting in Asia. But, the question is that why the new AWF official website wasn’t displayed and introduced at the above EB meeting ? Why no decision made about the weak presence of some Asian countries in the international competitions and lack of getting the host concession of the intercontinental events?

Is it supposed and determined that the vote independence of the Asians be overshadowed by the decision makings from outside of the continent under the name of harmonization of AWF and IWF constitution and regulations ? Who is the founder and decision maker of the new thoughts penetrated into the AWF structure? Are the new decisions and resolutions useful for the weightlifting of the continent or on the contrary they will cause its retrogression and lack of success ? If IWF really intends to help and support AWF, why such observations and decisions hadn’t been made in the Asian organizations of this sport field during the past decade?
